A connection with other individuals based on warmth, empathy and respect.

We need each other more than ever right now! This month let's focus on reaching out to connect with others and doing our best to be a good friend. Our acts of kindness and connection ripple out and impact so many more people than we realise - and they also boost our own happy hormones too! In stressful times people around us may be feeling the strain, so let's try to keep calm, take time to listen and show compassion.

February is the perfect time to celebrate relationships, how we love and nuture ourselves, how we care and support others as well as how we build a connection with the wider world that surrounds us. In September 2020, DfE made it compulsory for schools to teach Relationships, Sex and Health Education. Many of you I know are already doing a fantastic job in teaching RSHE in your settings and we hope that you will share you lesson plans and activities with us so that we can celebrate your great work. It is a mandation for all schools to also have a published RSHE policy which has been consulted with by parents/carers.
If you would like to find out how best to engage with your parent community, we invite you to attend our training workshop:
Engaging Parents & Carers in the School Community 4th March, 9:30 - 11:30 am
Join us in this workshop to explore creative ways to better engage with parents, carers and families in your practice. Click the link below for more information and bookings.
School communities are at the heart of everything we do. It is our mission to support children and young people to be the best version of themselves and to create opportunities where every child/young person is seen valued and heard. We would like to share this journey with you and would like to invite you attend our new workshop ‘Empowering Youth Participation and Engaging the Pupil Voice’
During this course we will explore how to develop an inclusive community of belonging where every pupil feels seen, heard and valued in relation to The Somerset Wellbeing Framework. • To create a plan for policy and implementation of pupil consultation as a foundation for Relationships and Sex Education and PSHE. • Learn about available resources and tools which can be used in pupil consultation. • Experience how creativity and reflective practice can illuminate the voices and perspectives of pupils.
