The Somerset Wellbeing Framework

Our Somerset Wellbeing Framework: Developing a whole school or college approach to emotional, mental health & wellbeing, helps us to consider connections through the 3 Pillars of Wellbeing - Belonging, Relationships & Lifestyles: Food, Activity & Sleep.

Connecting can mean different things to different people, we can all connect in different ways and at different levels.

In what way's do you experience healthy and meaningful connections?

Throughout this bulletin we offer ideas for ways to connect, including information, resources and signposting for help & support

Connect - One of the five ways to Wellbeing

Connect

Connecting is about building relationships, both old and new. Strong relationships with other people help you feel good and provide a sense of belonging. Being part of a strong social network helps to keep you healthy.

Connect…with the people around you, with family, friends, colleagues and neighbours.

Connect with people at home, work, school or in your local community. Think of the relationships you have with these people as the foundations of your life. Invest time in developing them. Building these connections will help support and enrich you every day.

 CONNECTING WITH LOCAL SUPPORT

Young Somerset - Wellbeing Support

Wellbeing is about how we feel and how we cope with everyday difficulties. We do not have to feel happy all of the time to have positive wellbeing.

However, if you are finding it difficult to cope with everyday life, this is where it might be helpful to work with one of our wellbeing practitioners. Find out more here - What is Wellbeing Support? | Young Somerset

The theme of ‘let’s connect’, looks at the importance that connection with others has on our mental health.
Healthy relationships with family, friends and school staff are vital for children’s wellbeing, offering a strong protective factor against poor mental health.
In this toolkit, we’re sharing free resources to help you explore the theme of connections with your pupils, and celebrate the week in your school.
