The image below shows the findings from the Somerset Schools Health and Wellbeing Survey (SHAWS) 2023.
This indicates that around two thirds of children in primary school responded to say the amount of sleep they normally get is enough to feel awake and concentrate on their schoolwork.
However, among secondary children this drops to around 50% or less that say they get enough sleep. This means 50% of secondary aged pupils did not feel they get enough sleep to feel awake and concentrate on their schoolwork.
