Within the community, the health visiting service delivers the 0-5 element of the Healthy Child Programme and the school nursing service the 5 - 19 element. 

Health visitors and school nurses are specialist public health nurses (SCPHN). Teams are led by specialist public health nurses with a rich skill mix of supporting professionals appropriate to the intervention being delivered.
